Why Is Resilience Important?

Resilience is what gives people the emotional strength to cope with trauma, adversity, and hardship. Resilient people utilize their resources, strengths, and skills to overcome challenges and work through setbacks.

Applying these principles can help offset factors associated with mental stress and give you the ability to see past challenges to find enjoyment in life however, resilience won't make your problems entirely go away. Resilient people understand that setbacks happen and that sometimes life is hard and painful. They will still experience emotional pain, grief, and sense of loss that comes after a tragedy, but their mental outlook allows them to work through such feelings and recover.
